

You must demonstrate the knowledge and skills to perform all basic maneuvers based on the FAA Practical Test Standards Manual. It is a two part test which consists of both a practical and an oral exam.

Solo flight includes 10 hours SOLO flight time, 5 hours DAY cross-country (full stop landings at a minimum of 3 points), one flight at least 150 nm with one sequence of at least 50nm between take-off and landing locations, and 3 take-offs and full stop landings at a towered airport. Dual instruction (you and the instructor) must log 20 hours DUAL instruction of which 3 hours are cross-country instruction, 3 hours NIGHT instruction, one night cross-country flight over 100nm, ten take-offs and landings to a full stop, and 3 hours instrument training. To schedule your exam, call the computer testing services (cats 80). You must pass your FAA pilot knowledge test consisting of 60 multiple choice questions and is administered at an FAA designated testing center. This medical certificate will function as your student pilot certificate. Your medical exam will be conducted by an FAA designated aviation medical examiner the CFI will recommend a facility.
